Hi All,
This email is about the visualization tool VisIt running on the data
analysis and visualization machine Eureka. If you don't care about
this, please ignore.
Jeremy Meredith of VACET (the visualization and analysis SciDAC
center) recently put changes into VisIt so that it can run client-
server on Eureka. There have previously been issues with client-
server because Eureka's batch nodes cannot connect back to any nodes
except for Eureka's login node ... which in turn forced VisIt's
client to be run on that login node. Jeremy's changes get around
this issue.
We are only supporting a beta version of VisIt on Eureka right now,
so I would like to try and provide compatible clients to folks who
want to run client-server to Eureka.
So: if you are running VisIt on Eureka and you want to run client-
server, please send me an email directly to me and please include
information about the platform you would be running a client from.
Thanks!!
-Hank
