*** Allinea Debugger Startup Streamlined ***
Startup of the Allinea DDT parallel debugger has been streamlined, making it easier for first-time users to get started. For more info, go to: https://wiki.alcf.anl.gov/index.php/Allinea_DDT.

*** ALCF "Getting Started" Workshop a Success ***
This year's second "Getting Started" workshop was held October 4-5, providing users with information on ALCF services and resources, technical details on the IBM Blue Gene/P architecture, as well as hands-on assistance in porting and tuning of applications. To view presentations from the Getting Started workshop, visit http://workshops.alcf.anl.gov/gs11fall/agenda/.

*** Environment Changes For Script Jobs are Coming October 17 to Intrepid ***
An upcoming change to Cobalt will change the environment that script mode jobs on Intrepid receive. Script jobs will start up with the submitting user's non-interactive login environment at the time the job is started. Once the change is live, users should check that the environment variables in their script-mode jobs are set to expected values. This change is expected to go live on Intrepid on October 17. These changes are already live on Surveyor, if you wish to test your scripts. If you were already sourcing your environment in your script jobs, then this step will not be necessary after this change. Please contact support at alcf.anl.gov if you have any questions about this change.

*** Switch to Challenger Means Procedural Changes for Users ***
Challenger (the ALCF's new rack of Blue Gene/P) will be online soon. Once Challenger is online, the prod-devel queue on Intrepid will be retired and jobs formerly run there will be run on Challenger. To help smooth the transition to Challenger, please continue to watch for additional information and training opportunities.

*** Showcase Your Visualization Movies in the Argonne Booth at Supercomputing 11 ***
