*** ALCF Enabling Quotas for /home on September 17 ***
Like core hours, storage at the ALCF is a finite resource. By enacting 
quotas, we are better able to manage the resources we have to support 
your science.

On the September 4 maintenance outage, ALCF will be enabling quotas but 
not enforcing them. After the maintenance outage, you will be able to 
run the following command to see how much storage you’re consuming:

/usr/lpp/mmfs/bin/mmlsquota

Two weeks later, on September 17, ALCF will be enforcing the 50GB quota 
in /home. Enforcement means that if you exceed your quota limit, you 
will no longer be able to write files to the file system.

We recognize there may be special circumstances where your needs will 
exceed the standard quota limit. In these instances, please email 
support at alcf.anl.gov with a requested amount, a brief description of the 
type of files you need to locate there (executables, libraries), and how 
storing the files in /home helps your efforts.

*** Argonne Closed Monday, September 3 ***
Argonne National Laboratory will be closed Monday, September 3, for the 
U.S. Labor Day holiday. All ALCF systems will be online and accessible 
during the closure, but support will be limited. Argonne will reopen 
Tuesday, September 4. Please contact support at alcf.anl.gov with any 
questions or concerns.

*** Labor Day Holiday Shifts Regular Maintenance to Tuesday ***
Due to the Labor Day holiday, the next regularly scheduled maintenance 
period for Intrepid/Challenger/Eureka and Surveyor/Gadzooks will occur 
Tuesday, September 4. Maintenance will start at 14:00 UTC. Users will be 
notified when the system is available once maintenance concludes. Please 
contact support at alcf.anl.gov with any questions.
