*** Ready for the Blue Gene/Q? Allocations of System Time in 2013 (Including the Blue Gene/Q) Available through INCITE ***
The open call for 2013 INCITE awards is April 11-June 27, 2012. To be eligible for an INCITE award, your project must demonstrate a high-impact science goal, plus computational readiness and the need for leadership-class supercomputing resources. Consider requesting a start-up allocation now through the ALCF's Director's Discretionary program to prepare your problem for INCITE. Visit http://www.alcf.anl.gov/resource-guides/how-get-allocation for more information. To expedite your request, please be sure to specify your Director's Discretionary allocation will be used for INCITE proposal preparation. 

*** Quotas in Effect on _home Filesystems ***
The ALCF is enforcing quotas on the intrepid_home and surveyor_home filesystems. Refer to the "Space Limit Enforcement" section on our data policies page at https://www.alcf.anl.gov/resource-guides/data-policy for details. Please contact support at alcf.anl.gov with any questions.

*** HDF5 1.8.8 Now Available ***
The latest version of HDF5 (1.8.8) is now available on Intrepid, Challenger, and Surveyor. Compute node libraries are installed in /soft/apps/current/hdf5-1.8.8. The front-end node utilities (such as h5dump) will be placed in your PATH via the softenv key "+hdf5-1.8.8". Please contact support at alcf.anl.gov with any questions.
