*** Leap to Petascale is Coming! May 22-25 ***
Mark your calendars and plan to attend Leap to Petascale: Making the Move to Mira. This workshop is geared especially for current INCITE and discretionary projects that have already scaled to multiple racks of Intrepid. With the arrival of Mira, the ALCF’s 10-petaflops Blue Gene/Q, this year’s workshop will focus on issues of scaling to the next-gen system. The workshop is also timed to coincide with efforts of teams preparing to submit 2013 INCITE proposals. A significant portion of workshop time will be devoted to hands-on tuning of applications with one-on-one assistance from our performance engineers and computational scientists. Special system reservations will provide the opportunity for full-scale runs. Please watch for registration information coming soon.

*** "Preparing for INCITE" Webinar April 24. Register Now! ***
The open call for 2013 INCITE awards is April 11-June 27, 2012. To be eligible for an INCITE award, your project must demonstrate a high-impact science goal, plus computational readiness and the need for leadership-class supercomputing resources. Visit https://www.alcf.anl.gov/incite2013 to find out more about the INCITE Program and to register for this informational webinar.

*** INCITE RFI Open ***
Are you planning to submit an INCITE proposal for 2013? If so, the INCITE Program invites you to respond to a Request for Information to inform the INCITE management of the proposal topics they can anticipate in this year's open call for proposals. Visit https://hpc.science.doe.gov/allocations/incite/ to respond. Please note: The information requested here is not a prerequisite for proposal submittal, nor will it limit any requests you may decide to make in your INCITE proposal.

*** /intrepid-fs0 Near Capacity ***
The /intrepid-fs0 filesystem, used by Intrepid, Challenger, and Eureka, is near capacity. Please remove any unneeded data, or transfer it offsite or to tape archive (and then delete it). Keep in mind that performance suffers when the filesystem is very full, and jobs cannot run if the filesystem fills completely. Please contact support at alcf.anl.gov for help transferring or archiving data.

*** Your Publications and Acknowledging the ALCF ***
By applying for ALCF resources, you agree to acknowledge ALCF in all publications based on work done with ALCF resources. Following is a sample acknowledgement: "This research used resources of the Argonne Leadership Computing Facility at Argonne National Laboratory, which is supported by the Office of Science of the U.S. Department of Energy under contract DE-AC02-06CH11357." Visit http://www.alcf.anl.gov/resource-guides/alcf-acknowledgment-policy to view this and other policies that pertain to users. Also, so we can make your publication's information available on our website, please forward the following to support at alcf.anl.gov: title, authors, publication, source, publisher and month/year of publications.

*** System Maintenance: Monday, April 2 ***
Regularly scheduled preventive maintenance begins Monday. For all systems: Maintenance starts 14:00 UTC Monday, with an expected end of 20:30 UTC Monday. During maintenance, no jobs will run on the systems. There may be disruptions in filesystem access and in network access to the login nodes. We will send a message to the notify lists when maintenance has concluded. Please contact support at alcf.anl.gov with any questions.

*** Register Now for ScicomP 2012 ***
ScicomP, the 18th Annual Meeting of the IBM High Performance Scientific Computing User Group, will be held in Toronto, Canada May 14-18, 2012. Abstract submissions are due April 2. Early registration and conference hotel room block both end April 12. Please visit the meeting website at http://spscicomp.org/scicomp2012 for more information and a link to the registration site.
