I’ve played with the cmake toolchain for static BGQ builds and now have everything built completely statically. I get the same error, but I can’t test on the compute nodes until the machine is out of maintenance, so I may have to wait a couple of days before I can play any more.</span></blockquote></div><div>I just checked - I get the same error on Juqueen@FZ Jülich, so I guess it is not possible to run the HDF5 binaries on the frontend (unless, of course, you compile them explicitly for the front end). I got confused because the NetCDF library (if compiled with --disable-netcdf-4) actually DOES run on the front ends, but I guess that's because they do not use any MPI functionality.</div><div><br></div><div>At the same time, I still think that my original statement (about non-static linking causing the same error) is true - we checked this a couple of weeks ago on Juqueen with an experimental installation of gcc 4.9.</div><div><br></div><div>Michael</div></body></html>
