Now that Challenger is online, please remember to use it for debugging and small development jobs, not for production runs. *** IBM Unveils the Blue Gene/Q at SC11 ***
IBM picked SC11 as the venue for unveiling it's next-gen Blue Gene/Q system, the much-anticipated machine that the ALCF is scheduled to receive in 2012. The Blue Gene/Q will provide an ultra-scale, technical computing platform to solve the most challenging problems facing engineers and scientists at faster, more energy efficient, and more reliable rates than ever before. *** Thanksgiving Holiday: Help Desk Unavailable Nov. 24, 25 ***
Argonne will be closed for the Thanksgiving holiday November 24 and 25. The ALCF help desk will be closed as well. Emergency email response and hardware support will be best effort during this holiday break. If you have questions or concerns prior to the holiday break, please email support at alcf.anl.gov. 

*** DOE CSGF Accepting Fellowship Applications ***
The Department of Energy Computational Science Graduate Fellowship (DOE CSGF) program is now accepting fellowship applications. Doctoral students can earn up to four years of financial support plus take part in unique career development opportunities while they pursue a degree in a field of study that utilizes high-performance computing technology to solve complex problems in science and engineering.
