***Attention INCITE Researchers: 1st Quarter Reports are Overdue***
Penalties will apply for projects more than 30 days late. For details, see: https://wiki.alcf.anl.gov/index.php/Reporting_Requirements_for_INCITE_projects

***Online Q&A Session for INCITE Proposal Assistance - May 16***
The INCITE program provides large allocations of computer time and resources for use in transformational advances in science and engineering. Proposals are due June 30th. To assist you with your proposal, the ALCF is offering an online Q&A session via webinar on May 16. To register, go to: http://workshops.alcf.anl.gov/incitepw11/.

***User Tip: Use the Drain State to Reduce Your Wait***
Sometimes the scheduler "drains" partitions in order to allow a large job to run. During this drain period, only jobs of a sufficiently short duration are accepted onto that partition. If you have a smaller job that can accommodate different runtimes, try using the "qavail" command to find a partition in a draining state. For instance, "qavail 512" would find if there are any 512-node partitions currently in the drain state, and let you know the maximum acceptable job runtime. Then you can get straight onto the machine, with no wait. For details, go to: https://wiki.alcf.anl.gov/index.php/Queuing#Submitting_into_backfill_partitions.

***/intrepid-fs1 Back in Service***
The file system /intrepid-fs1 has been returned to service. It is mounted on all Eureka and Intrepid nodes. To use /intrepid-fs1 from the Blue Gene, add the '--kernel pvfs' option to qsub while submitting a job. This kernel profile makes /intrepid-fs1 available for Blue Gene/P jobs and is otherwise exactly the same as the default kernel. For example, to submit a job to use the PVFS partition, run:

qsub -A <project> --kernel pvfs -n <nodes> -t <walltime> <executable>

Previous data has not been restored by default. Please email support at alcf.anl.gov if you would like any previous data from /intrepid-fs1 restored.

***TotalView Upgraded to Version 8.9.0-0***
