Whether you're a new ALCF user, a seasoned pro, or somewhere in between, the ALCF's 2012 Winter Workshop has something for every user. Plus, based on your feedback, this year's workshop will feature agenda topics you pick when you register! To register: http://workshops.alcf.anl.gov/gswjanuary12/

*Dates: January 23-26, 2012
*Location: Argonne National Laboratory, Building 240

- New and Beginning Users: Your workshop begins on Monday (January 23) with an ALCF "primer" to give you all the information you need to get started on ALCF resources. Then, stay for Days 2-4 for topics of interest to all users, including the "User Directed" portion of the workshop that we'll build from input you provide about your interests when you register. 

- Experienced and Advanced Users: The "basics" are covered on Monday, so decide if you want to come for Day 1, or join us starting Day 2 (Tuesday, January 24) for three full days of topics geared just for you, including our "User Directed" portion of the workshop, with agenda content built from the input you give us when you register. 

When you register for ALCF's 2012 Winter Workshop, you'll help determine the workshop content by selecting from a list of 35 timely topics, including:  

*Transitioning from Blue Gene/P to Blue Gene/Q
* Effective Job Submission Strategies
* Code Optimization Examples: What worked, what didn't?
* Introduction to OpenMP
* Utilizing Unique Features of the Blue Gene
* ...and 30 other topics of interest to users at all levels

Throughout the workshop, you'll have opportunities to meet one-on-one with the ALCF staff of HPC experts for project assistance, too. For users interested in learning more about specific tools and debuggers, we'll have industry representatives on hand to help.
