[Llvm-bgq-discuss] november patches

Michael,

I've not tried using --with-gcc-toolchain when configuring; I don't know if that is causing a problem. Also, I generally build like this:
make -j 8 ENABLE_OPTIMIZED=1 OPTIMIZE_OPTION=-O2 EXTRA_OPTIONS=-mminimal-toc

I'm aiming to have a new set of patches for everyone by the end of the week.
